I recently purchased, installed, and properly registered a copy of Web Server 2008 R2 on my 32bit box. When I went to add the DNS server according to the example listed on this site all I found was the IIS. Microsoft documentation states DNS service is provided.

The place I bought the copy of Web Server 2008 R2 is now out of business and I am quickly learning how to administor a website.

Any information, or direction will be greatly appreciated. I am willing to learn, but finding good information is harder than the learning process.

Well, you should find the ability to install DNS in Server Manager-->Roles-->Add Roles.

If it's not there, I'd start to wonder if whoever sold it to you actually sold you a real copy of R2 (which is questionable in my mind at this date--I thought the street date for R2 was this coming Thursday).

Okay, I was wrong about the R2, I thought I had a copy.

I had tried the dcpromo and get a message "The Active Directory Domain Services Wizard is not Supported on this SKU."

I did go to Add ons and only the IIS appears as selectable.

Do I need to bring in someone, on site, who actually know what's going on?

Well, yeah, that's probably a good idea. Web Server 2008 only supports IIS 7 as a Server Role, and definitely will not act as a Domain Controller. Best to get a consultant.
