MOSS - How many WSS sites can it support?

Now that I have your attention :rolleyes: , do you have any idea how many individual SharePoint sites that SharePoint Portal Server can handle. I have looked at a lot of MS info but I have been unable to find an answer yet. Any idea where I may find this info, apart from SharePoint Forums (my next port of call)?

Hey Biggles, SharePoint Server 2007 will host however many sites you want, especially if you build a SharePoint server farm. Run out of space, add a server to the farm, add more. While I don't know the exact number, I have yet to hear of an organization that has completely maxed out SharePoint's capabilities.
