View Full Version : What do you think of the new Microsoft Certifications?
Hello Everyone!
I wanted to see what everyone thinks about the revamped Microsoft certifications. I know you all have opinions about it so let’s hear them! Be sure to vote in the poll, but feel free to give your specific opinions and experiences in the thread below.
I think you can always benefit from a certification. Some people are not happy with the way Microsoft has switched some things for Server 2008. But, if your company is implementing Server 2008, or you are applying for a position in a company that is implementing Server 2008, then having that certification is going help you immensely. Also, there are several upgrade paths you can follow if you have a Server 2003 certification that require you to take as few as 2 exams for your Server 2008 certification. So, if nothing else it is a simple way to beef up your resume.

Some see the certifications as the be all and end all. I see them as a licence to learn. Certs or rather the training you undergo to gain the certification only gives you a basic background understanding of the application you are using. It gives you a head start for when you get to actually play with them in a live environment. But hey, I am just an old fart, what do I know. :D
Ooops, forgot to make mention of the new Master qualification. Master??? Sounds like something from a Kung Fu or Star Wars movie.
