Hi TrainSignal Friends,

I am using Windows Server 2008 R2 64 bit as PDC, Backup and Member Server in My Lab.

In our lab, Xp, Vista and Windows 7 clients are connected with 2008 R2 server.

For all users in active directory, the Home folder is configured as "Connect: Z:" To "\\memberserver\DOS"

In Vista and Xp clients the Home folder share is displayed in explorer as Z: drive and also, when the user launch the command prompt, they get Z:\> prompt

In Windows 7, Home folder share is displayed in explorer as Z: drive. But in Command Prompt, the users get (say) C:\Users\SuperCoach\ is displayed instead of Z:\> Prompt. Manually users have to change to Z:\>.

How to configure the command prompt default drive to Z:\ for all users in Windows 7 with R2 server.

Thanks with kind regards.

Having not even looked ar R2 yet, have you tried a GPO, Home Folder Redirection? Obviously the Home Folder would be redirected to Z:
