83-640 and Server 2008 R2

Hi,

I want to start the course 83-640 but wondered how Windows Server 2008 R2 will affect the exam (if at all) and whether Train Signal have any plans to release updates to the course materials that reflect the new features of R2? Should I wait for a new version of the course or should I just bite the bullet and keep up to date on the changes in R2 some other way??

Welcome to the forums!

Great question. I am sure a lot of people are wondering the same thing. It is my understanding that the current 83-640 exam only covers Server 2008 topics. It does not venture in to R2 material.

And just so you know Coach and I are creating a What is New in Server 2008 R2 Training course right now. So yes we are updating our course but you won’t need it for the current 83-640 test.
I bet once they do make an exam for R2 it will have a different number.
