Is there a Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA) credential or Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) credential for Windows Server 2008?

The short answer is no. For Server 2008 there are now two certification paths to obtain your Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP) certification. The first path is the MCITP Server Administrator and the second path is the MCITP Enterprise Administrator.

The Server Administrator certification would be best for you if you are considering a career in or are currently working as a Windows Server Administrator, Server Systems Admin., Monitoring Operator, or Network Admin.

The Enterprise Administrator certification would be best for you if you are considering a career in or are currently working as an IT Systems Manager, Enterprise Security Administrator, Systems Architect, or Network Admin.

Yeah Zach is right - so long MCSE!

Here is a great article (http://www.trainsignaltraining.com/windows-server-2008-certifications-death-to-the-mcse/2007-06-19/)about the change:

We are currently working on releasing a:

Windows Server 2008 Active Directory-70-640 (http://www.trainsignal.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=115)training course
Windows Server 2008 Network Infrastructure-70-642 (http://www.trainsignal.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=117)training course

Both will align with the new certifications.
