Hi there, I have a question for you Coach.

I'm going through your Active Directory Server 2008 training now. In the OU setup, you mention seperation of computer accounts and user accounts in the OU's partially out of possible performance issues. Can you please elaborate on why that is?

I am self taught on Active Directory, my last MCSE was in NT 4.0. I have both computer and user accounts in single departmental OU's now where I work. If I need to change that for performance I would just like to understand that further.

Thanks much.

I'm not sure in regards to performance but for me, it would be ease of management of the computer accounts both in regards to admin and also group policy restrictions.

For instance, we have three offices, each office has different restrictions in place, due to the way that coach explained everything nice and clearly, it made perfect sense for us to adopt a similar method and thus achieving our requirements. As stated, simplicity is the key. We are only small though.

Best of luck,

Gabi.
