Hi, I have a Dell XPS laptop with Vista Ultimate and I got these Train signal Windows 2008 server, VMware & sharepoint 2007 training videos. I get no sound from these videos, only the windows 2008 server sound works fine but Vmware and sharepoint 2007 has no sound but video is ok.

I installed the klite codec pack with no luck, can anyone advice suggest which codec I need for sound.

In the volume control panel I can see the bar going up and down as if there is sound in these videos but no sound comes out from the speakers. When I put the CD on I hear the train sound and the bells.

Here is a link to download and install the Camtasia Player (http://download.techsmith.com/camtasiastudio/player/camplay.zip). Give this player a try and if it works then we know the problem is an isolated Windows Media Player error.

Hi, this camtasia player does not work, it only gives the option to play avi files and the files in the CD are wmv files.

When did you purchase our products? All of our products come with .WMV files, .AVI files, iPod files and Mp3 files, so you should have no problem playing them in the Camtasia player.

I purchased them last month, the files are wmv files and the camtasia player only gives the open to play avi files so there are no avi files in the CD. Anyway I found the cause of the problem now its windows media player.

The sound comes when I used creative player software which came with my laptop when I bought it but in windows media player it does not play sound, so I was wondering if you know of any fix to resolve that in media player or unless I contact microsoft. thanks

Well I'm glad to hear you got it working. There are .AVI files on your disc if you:

Right Click the drive your disc is in
Click Explore
Open the Video folder of the video you want to watch
Open the VideoX_Media folder
In this folder you will find an .AVI video file

In regards to your Windows Media Player question; there are several things that could be causing the problem and we would just be guessing if we tried to fix it. The best thing to do would be to contact Microsoft.
