This a very general information and there could be quite few reasons for you getting this error message. I have seen this before and it was caused by a corrupted profile. If this is your case as well, I would suggest for you to follow these steps and see if that helps:
1. Try creating a new profile. Here are the steps:
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=829918
2. Repair MAPI - to do so:
- Close all programs and rename the Mapi32.dll file in the C:\Windows\System32 folder to "Mapi32.old" (without quotation marks).
- Locate the Fixmapi.exe file in the C:\Windows\System32 folder, and then double-click "Fixmapi.exe" to run the program.
- Restart your computer.
3. Outlook Command Switch:
It may happen if the Outlook views are corrupted, if this is the case, we may reset the views by the following steps:
- Close Outlook.
- Click Start, click Run, type "Outlook.exe /CleanViews" (without quotation mark) and press Enter.
- If the problem still exists, let's run Outlook Safe Mode to test the issue again: Outlook.exe /Safe
If the problem still exists try cleaning Outlook Cache:
4. Clean Outlook Cache
Search for the following four files and rename them by changing the file extension from ".dat" to ".old":
- outcmd.dat,
- extend.dat,
- frmcache.dat,
- views.dat.
Please try these steps and see if it helps you.
