Hi there,

I'm going to rebuild the company network, breakdown.

3 offices.
120 users.

Each office has a different setup,

Each office has a different IP structure,

Examples,

Office A = 151.45.1.0/24
Office B = 195.0.0.0/24
Office C = 10.1.30.0/24

two offices have a domain, one office has a workgroup.

If I want to change the IP structure in each of the offices, for example

Office A = 10.1.10.0/24
Office B = 10.1.20.0/24
Office C = 10.1.30.0/24

Office A has DHCP created by the firewall and the gateway is also 151.45.1.110 therefore, if I create something like 10.1.10.0/24 it isnt going to work.

I basically want to create the new domain and the two DC's, on the main Site (Site A ) working and all fully functional before swapping DHCP to one of the servers and also renaming all the local machines accordingly.

Thanks very much,

Gabi,

Gabi, you need to let us know what Server software you are going to use and what is the Firewall hardware, assuming it is a hardware firewall and not just something that is built into the Router. Also need to know what the Router make/model is and are the 3 offices in the same location (in the same building) or are they in remote locations (need possible VPN or similar connection)?

Hi there,

Thanks for replying so quickly.

Desktops are XP pro.

Servers are a mixture of 2000 and 2003 standard.

The tree offices are in different buildings.

Office A and office B have vpn, via a sonicwall 2040 pro with the enhanced OS.

Office A or B don't currently have a VPN with office C (in the process, the company that deals with the router/firewall there are trying to charge us £200 + VAT for setting it up!!!!)

I have 6 dell 1650's which are dual 1.4 processors with 2 gig of ram, Raid 5 disks, they should meet the requirements for 2008 server...... but fail on the test you download on the ram ??

I will have a proper look at the sonicwall pro config, I am sure you can run two separate networks of that firewall, hence, leaving alone the current one until I have everything else working ok.

Thank you for that link, I will have a look shortly :)

Biggles,

That's me.........

I have put it into two forums, as I like to know what different people would do.

It's interesting how different some proposed solutions are.

Thanks,

Gabi.
