Hi,

In my AD training it showed me how to configure and use RIS but that technology has not been used for some time. It is now WDS and I have tried to configure it but it is significantly different than RIS.

Where might I find a good tutorial on WDS?

It doesn't seem like you can just load an OS from the disks anymore, it requires you to create a image from an already installed system. For me this is not ideal as all the machines are different so once the OS is installed I will still need to spend some time installing the drivers.

Thanks,
Mike

Hey clickmike, it just so happens that I did a nifty video on WDS in my Intro to Server 2008 series, which available for free download at http://www.trainsignal.com/Intro-to-Windows-Server-2008-Training-P28.aspx . And if that's not enough, I just completed the Windows Server 2008 Application Infrastructure course which should be released very soon. I hit WDS in-depth in that series.

WDS is far more powerful and easier to use than RIS. Try it, you'll like it.
