To whom it may concern,
Hello my name is John and I purchase a lot of your nice video tutorials and I simply like your products! My main reason to right this letter to you is because I am trying to implement my exchange 2000 enterprise server to host multiple domains and assigned them email addresses, I did order your video on exchange 2000 server 'video CBT Lab 17' part 1 and part 2. My understanding is this 'on the exchange 2000 server enterprise I can have up to 4 Storage Groups and one is a singed for the reserved! so I have 4 Storage Group 'does that mean I can only host 4 domains? or 4 domain company? Can you elaborate this process for me please, I need to know exactly how I can assign let say 10 companies so 10 domains? Can you please explain to me the whole process step by step, for example like first create a storage Group then so on and so forth! I know how to implement the different domains on my DNS server lie assigning MX record, It's just the process of assigning new mail and actually creat their mail boxes, I also know that it has to do with "Recipient". Please help me out, thanks and happy holidays.

I think the following article may help you out a bit. http://www.petri.co.il/configure_exchange_2000_2003_to_receive_email_for_ other_domains.htm
Post back with questions etc.

Hey Biggles77 thanks for your input and I did do just that! On that link that you sent me http://www.petri.co.il/configure_exc...er_domains.htm So I had just setup my exchange server to send and receive mail with the default domain on the computer for example abc.com is the default domain, so I configured the dns done!, router configured done!, firewall configured done! and that's working great, I tested it and I was able to send and received mail. Now I added for example 123.com which I purchase through godaddy.com and configured the exchange server for multiple domains under Recipient's properties, so that's done! and that is all I have done with that, so when I tested 123.com it did not seem to work! I was unable to send and receive mail for that domain 123.com but my default domain abc.com is still working fine? Is there additional step that I need to configure on DNS server? 'I have my own DNS server' or maybe additional configuration on Exchange server so that 123.com can send and receive mail? I think I got lost on that part when 'configuring additional 'Sub-Domain' and 'MX record stuff', I would like to know how to configure to add 'sub domain' for 123.com on my existing domain abc.com I think that's the problem here and the pointing of the MX record for 123.com, please help! Thanks Biggles77, greatly appreciate it.

Go back over each step in the instructions again and double check you have them correct.
When you say you have your own DNS server, is this a REAL DNS sever or an internal DNS server for use on your network? There is a big difference between an internal DNS and the DNS used on the Internet and ISPs. You will need an MX Record entered, most likely on your ISPs DNS, so 123.com will point to the external IP of your Modem or Modem/Router and then forwarded to your Exchange Server.
Can you send email using the 123.com name?

Yes I do have my own DNS server, the ISP is not providing that to me. I setup my own public DNS server and I registered a domain and I have that domain pointing to my own DNS server, I thinks it where I enter the MX record. I am using 2003 server and I have the default active directory domain such as abc.com but I also purchase 123.com and I would like to have Exhange to include or incorporate 123.com domain it's own mailbox so that other user's of 123.com can access their email of @123.com. Do I have to add that 123.com domain to my active directory abc.com? or to my own public DNS? I did figure out how to add in the recipient! the @123.com that was easy, but I want the 123.com to flow email message to that domain and assign user to 123.com. How to I do that part, thanks Biggles77.

Yes so I have my own DNS server for the public, my ISP is not providing that to me 'just the block of static IP' and two of those IP are for my DNS server. So I added the 123.com to my Recipient, that went good and actually it automatically assigned me a administrative email address so that I can test it out, and that when fine! I was able to send and received email using my administrator@123.com account, now my active directory domain is abc.com and I added the 123.com to the Recipient and configured my DNS for 123.com MX record. So now 123.com has a mailbox, now I would like to know how to add user or group to 123.com? do I have to add the user or group to my existing domain of abc.com? or can I just add the 123.com to my existing domain abc.com, I just now want to add user or groups to 123.com so that when a user@123.com can send and receive mail with there own user and password login? please let me know, thanks Biggles77.
