I now believe this is a separate from what handyman1994 was dealing with in his thread, so I will post this here instead, as it should be more helpful to everyone.
The product on this page: http://www.trainsignal.com/Intro-to-Windows-Server-2008-Training-P28.aspx
has a problem under a fairly basic installation of Windows XP.
There are no video files included with this download, only EXE files (which don't work on my computer).
When I launch any given video through the table of contents I get the message:
---------------------------
Macromedia Flash Player 7
---------------------------
Would you like to install the Flash Player 7 ActiveX control?
---------------------------
Yes No
---------------------------
Neither choice results in a working video; both leave me staring at a dark grey window and listening to the training session (i.e., I get audio, but NO video).
Clicking yes results in some files being copied around and then a success message, clicking no simply avoids the file copy.
Can this download be made available in either high quality .mp4, .avi, .mkv, .vob, .mov, .mpg, .flv, .wmv, .avc, .dat, or .3gp? I can play these (preferably .avi). These are video formats. .exe files are not media files, but rather programs that contain media files requiring outside support from the operating system, which a basic install of windows XP seems not to have.
The camtasia player files were great in some of the older series (server 2003 etc). The embedded flash player files in the win vista training worked.
If these files cannot be made available in a media format, can instructions be provided for windows XP users to help get this working? I have tried all the codec suggestions I could find in the forums and none of them change anything.
