As if 21+ hours of Exchange 2007 Server training wasn't enough!
Now I'm working on a course that will cover backup and recovery in much greater depth: last time I covered it in a bit under 2 hours. This time I'm going to spend at least eight hours making it all totally clear.
Eight hours? What are you thinking? Did you get lazy the first time, or do you just like talking?
Neither. Shhh... This is actually a stealth course, flying low under the radar. At least four hours of the coverage will actually be focused on installing and configuring Microsoft's new backup product, Data Protection Manager.
Why would I do that? Well, Windows 2008 Server doesn't come with NTBackup, so the options for backing up Exchange 2007 on Server 2008 are pretty limited. A lot of people are going to be looking at DPM as their new backup solution, and it's pretty slick.
So you could think of this course as one on the DPM basics that also focuses heavily on backing up and restoring Exchange 2007 Server. But we'll be covering plenty of non-DPM topics.
Some topic previews?
- How to implement dial-tone recovery
- How to use the new Exchange VSS snap-in on Windows 2008 Server
- How to use multiple mailbox databases wisely
- Setting up DPM
- How to restore a mailbox database to a different server
- How to recover a server using DPM
And plenty more. Hope that whets your appetite.
