I was wondering. First, I love your CBTs they rock!

But what of 2007 Server or MCSE 2007..

how will Trainsignal deal with this change? I hear that MCSE is going away?

I am confused. I can see the market 60/40 which is 2000 servers/2003 Servers.

So when 2007 Server comes out will people migrate to 2007 or 2003 that 60 percent?

And what of us who are studying 2003 server just starting. Supposedly MS$ has complete new technology
with 2007 server. Which is hard to believe; when they have spent all this time building on top of each
NT technology? What is your opinion?

I am happy to hear to you like our products. The “easy” answer to all of this is that we will adapt and continue to create products that will keep you “in the know” on Microsoft technologies.

Don’t stress too much; Microsoft always seems to make things sound much more confusing than they really turn out to be. Server 2007 will come out but it won’t be dramatically different; in other words all of the time you have spent learning 2000/2003 will greatly help your learning curve for 2007 because it will be based on the same network operating system principles. TCPIP will be the same. DNS will be the same. Active Directory will be the same but just have more features/updates. You are correct, Microsoft is not going to just abandon the “core” operating system and the majority of Server 2007 will be just like Server 2003. Also, the market will not instantly adopt 2007; it will take years before 2007 really becomes mainstream. I wouldn’t even let the fact that 2007 is going to be released bother you. Study 2003 and worry about 2007 a year or two from now. Your MCSE (in 2003) will still be valid and your skill set in 2003 will help you immensely.
