I'm assuming you're talking about our CompTIA A+ training CDs that you purchased (and not the free videos that are found on our TrainSignalTraining.com site).
Here's what you can do. Copy the contents of the CDs to your hard drive and open them from there. Or, you can also right click on each file from the CD and select "add to Windows Media Player Library".
Both, or at least one of these options should work for you.
Our courses will run on the Vista OS; it just takes a step or two more than usual due to Vista’s security settings. You simply need to open Windows Media Player after inserting the disc into the disc drive, press “Alt” and manually open the files from the File Menu; or you could copy the entire disc to the Windows Media Player play-list. This should take care of any problems you may experience viewing our courses.
Another quick way to watch our courses in Windows Vista is to:
-Insert the CD/DVD into your drive
Open Windows Media Player 11 (note: if you do not have version 11 you can download this for free from Microsoft)
-Move your cursor over the Now Playing Tab
-Click the small down arrow that appears
-Click the CD or DVD drive that appears in the drop down menu (the drive that contains your course disk)
-This will open all of the videos on the disk and will allow you to navigate through each video using WMP.

Hi I just received my first ever package from Trainsignal and I am eager to see if all doubts about this package can be washed away and to tell you the truth, it could be off to a better start.
I got no video, even after copying it to my computer and playing it with Media player 11.
But truth be known, the audio was just perfect and the instructor does sound like he knows what he is talking about. Always a plus. But please give me video. :(
Also do i download my transcender pack that I am supposed to get with this package. Its probably somewhere but i figured I would ask.

Dear Trainsignal,
I finally got my package to work and its awesome. I just need a confirmation on how to get my transcender pack now.:)
Simon
I am glad you got your video working. What did you do to fix it?
On the Additional Content CD there should be a video explaining how to use your Transcender voucher. The voucher is a physical piece of paper that should have come with your product.
Please let us know what you think of the product and if you have any other questions.

Dear Lisa,
I tried using the Trainsignals GUI version but that didnt work for me and so didnt the avi files. But then I was reading the product information on your website and decided to use the WMV files instead. Its a bit of a nuisance because I can't use my MAC to view these files but bottom line is it works and thats okay for now.
Before I get into my review, Can I ask if Trainsignals can recommend a type of virtual lab? Boson has one for CCNA where you can add routers and configure them but they dont have one for servers. I want to try what I learn but I dont have the funds or space to have three pcs in my apartment.
Product Review:
So far after 6 out of 13 videos, Scott Skinger style totally decimates what I experienced at CBT Nuggets. I was so surprised how good he makes everything sounds. Like a few Admins I know, I have a strong bias against microsoft products especially Outlook but my work forces me to work on it. Plus other Microsoft decisions like switching to Prometric as a sole testing center has made my life extremely difficult.
Whereas I studied Cisco with CBT Nuggets ( a subject that I am really interested in and I was tutored by a really good CCIE back in University).
Given the background, Scott -Trainsignals was working from a significant disadvange in trying to win me over. But like I said, he is a really good instructor. He breaks everything down into little bits and takes you thru everything step by step. He doesnt take any huge leaps and expects you to fill in the gaps yourself.
What I found that was very very good about the course so far is actually the mistakes. Yep - Scott makes mistakes as do we all. This is helpful in two ways, When learning, you dont have this impression that you are the only one who doesn't get it. When you are using it whether its implementation or troubleshooting, these little problems help you understand what could and occasionally happens.
On top of everything, Scott comes across as extremely honest about it and the product that he teaches and that shows the experience that he has. He will honestly tell you the flaw in following the book and how an unconventional method work better, easier to implement and uses little things that all admins have to make their jobs easier.
One thing that slowed my decision to get trainsignals products was its price. Even with as bad an experience I had with Nuggets, they were cheaper. But with the Transcender package with each program, Trainsignals is cheaper now and superior in quality too.
For all non-Trainsignals users, the Nuggets program will add $100 per exam so for the AD package of like 10 DVDs, you gotta tack on another $1000. Which is like $800 more expensive then Trainsignals and Nugget uses Selftest (Transcender's younger brother).
When I used CBTs, I am trying to save time but with Nuggets I ended up using more time and in the end, I actually knew a lot less. With this program, I can't wait to get to the next video.
In fact, I am trying to decide which pack of AD I want to get next.
I like to point out that I am not affiated with Trainsignals. I give this review honestly. ..Regards Simon - MCSA Certified Windows Administrator
Simon,
Thanks so much for sharing your thoughts about our product. We really appreciate all customer feedback, and your experience with other CBT products makes your opinion all the more useful.
Zach told me about an open source media player that will play any file type on any system. It is called VLC. You could try that on your Mac.

I was talking to Coach about what you can do to set up labs. This is what he suggested
Point him in the virtual direction:
Virtual PC: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?displaylang=en&FamilyID=04d26402-3199-48a3-afa2-2dc0b40a73b6
Virtual Server: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsserversystem/virtualserver/default.aspx
He can download the trial versions of whatever OS he's working on and install them into virtual machines, assuming he has enough RAM

I tried the VLC software but i had the same result. I think the trainsignals videos have Mac-allergies.
But its cool. I already finished all the videos and I am pretty happy with it. Even if I couldnt use the GUI. I found the Transcenders Information in the additional CD.
Unfortunately I have the same problem. Audio but no video. I just need to know if there is anything on that video i desperately need to know or can I just use the transcender card that was in the dvd case that came with the Exchange 2003 DVDs. It already has the registration key and if its a download version of the transcender exam prep then I think I have all i need to get my exam prep from Transcender.
Final Review: Exchange 2003. 10/10 totally convinced of quality. Looking at AD now and might consider CCNP for my exam prep.
I would love to get the complete package but i added up all the packages I could want and it comes in under the full pack price for me?
Incidently, I left another question on another post. I will make my next purchase after I get a reply for that one. :)
Sorry about the Mac allergies.
For the Transcender: you just need to go to the Transcender website and join the club. Once you are signed in to your club account you should see a link called something like “Enter a registration code”.
The rest is pretty self explanatory. If you run into trouble let me know.
